The Mengo Craft & Culture Centre is a cultural tourism initiative designed to showcase Buganda’s heritage through craftsmanship, storytelling, and immersive experiences. Located near Bulange Mengo, the Centre brings together local artisans, historians, and cultural performers to produce and sell high-quality handmade crafts, conduct workshops, and host cultural festivals.
BICUL’s role is to manage the Centre as a sustainable commercial venture while creating jobs for youth and artisans. The project also serves as a heritage preservation effort and a tourism income stream.
